Meadowacre Shetland and miniature horse stud was established in 1990 with the acquisition of our stallion Twyford Kevin. Over time we purchased mares carefully selected for their style, presence, conformation and type suitability for the show ring, as miniature horse, miniature Shetland Pony and standard Shetland Pony.

Twyford Kevin has traditional bloodlines and has been twice been Supreme Shetland Stud Book Society Champion, and Best of Breeds from Wales Overall Champion at the North of England Show 1998 and 2000 with many other good wins to his credit.

We have spent many years in the horse industry, showing and we try to attend as many shows as possible, to give exposure to the stud, meet people within the industry & also to promote our home grown foals.

Our aim is to breed quality Shetland and miniature horses with good temperaments & conformation, with solid or broken colour. Every pony at  the stud has been shown with great success, and all proofs are available. The foals are  registered & we pride ourselves in ensuring they are well handled. Our mares are successful show mares themselves & have produced successful progeny.
